Couch potatoes may suffer minor disturbances to their television viewing next week as annual maintenance work is carried out on the Mt Cargill television transmitter.
The work is expected to affect the analogue signal for Otago's TV One and TV2 viewers.
A TVNZ corporate affairs spokeswoman said TV2 would be affected by minor signal disturbances for two hours between noon and 5pm on October 19, and TV One would not be available for up to two hours between 1.30am and 5am on October 20.
The Mt Cargill signal transmits from Dunedin to as far as Balclutha in the south, Kurow and Oamaru in the north, and past Naseby, Ranfurly, Middlemarch and Lawrence in the west.
Digital TV viewers would not experience any disruption, she said.
The work will be carried out by Kordia, a crown-owned telco and media business.
