A helicopter waited to take a woman in her 20s to Christchurch Hospital following a fall at Leap Indoor Trampoline Park, in Dunedin, yesterday.

The woman was in a serious condition.

St John spokesman Ian Henderson said an ambulance initially attended the incident at the Grosvenor St site, but it was decided the patient should be flown to the Christchurch Hospital emergency department.

Shortly after the accident, a Leap employee, who declined to be named, said all facilities would remain open at the park.

A Leap representative later declined to answer further questions.

A WorkSafe spokesman said the department had been notified and inquiries were being made.

It was ''too early'' to tell if an in-depth investigation was necessary, the spokesman said.

In October, WorkSafe investigators started visiting the estimated 33 trampoline parks in New Zealand following a rise in trampoline-related injuries.
