Newcomers will bring a different dimension to the 15th anniversary iD Dunedin Fashion Show, organisers say.

The 14 commercial fashion labels selected for the April 4 and 5 show have been revealed.

They include Dunedin labels NOM*d, Mild-Red and Carlson, which have been in the iD show since its inception.

Returning Dunedin fashion designer Charmaine Reveley has also been a regular part of iD, first showing her work as an Otago Polytechnic graduate.

Selected New Zealand labels new to iD include highnoontea and Wilson Trollope, of Wellington, which will present winter 2014 collections alongside emerging Dunedin brand Clothes I've Made and eco-fashion label Senorita AweSUMO, by former Otago Polytechnic graduate Fiona Clements.

Other Dunedin labels selected for the anniversary show are Company of Strangers, DADA Vintage and Tamsin Cooper, which were all involved in this year's event.

Auckland-based designer Vaughan Geeson has been selected, as well as DEVa'L and Storm.

Designers will show their winter 2014 collections, tailored to celebrate the iD anniversary, at the Dunedin Railway Station.

A further two guest designers yet to be revealed will parade outfits in the show, as will a selection of Otago fashion design graduates and winners of the iD International Emerging Designer Awards.

That event will be held on April 3 at the Dunedin Town Hall.

Tickets to both events go on sale today.

Susie Staley, iD Dunedin Fashion Week committee chairwoman, said next year's show promised to be a standout, combining Dunedin's most beloved designers with fresh, new talent.

The designer selection was made by Fashion Quarterly and Canvas magazine fashion editor Dan Ahwa, of Auckland.

He said the process was exciting and reflected the importance of the event in providing a platform for emerging talent.

''Judging from the collections highlighted, it's encouraging to see that, although Dunedin's dark poetics are still making their presence felt.

There's a new-found spirit in the collections as designers explore brighter colours and bold prints, along with clean tailoring - all elements that are perhaps not readily connected with Dunedin style,'' he said.

The iD team has also revealed its promotional identity image for the anniversary event.

It was created by Dunedin photographer Emily Hlavac Green and BrandAid owner Luke Johnston, also from Dunedin, with Dunedin model Lily Van Buskirk, of Ali McD Aart Agency.

For the image she wore a gold Charmaine Reveley dress and was styled by Dunedin makeup artist Katy Parsons.
