Student warned for alleged theft

An 18-year-old Dunedin student has been given a pre-charge warning after allegedly stealing $80 of condoms and associated accessories from a city supermarket.

The man was apprehended by police at 3.30pm on Monday, and items were returned to Centre City New World, Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken said.

• A 59-year-old Dunedin man is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court after allegedly stealing a bottle of wine from the Countdown supermarket in central Dunedin.

Snr Sgt Aitken said the man was apprehended on Monday evening.

• Cash was reportedly stolen from a car parked in the Roseneath area on Monday night.

Snr Sgt Aitken said the vehicle was broken into and cash taken from an ashtray.
