Jetstar passengers stranded in Dunedin overnight after their flight was cancelled have now left on a replacement flight.
Last night, travellers were forced to wait hours in the Dunedin Airport building and about two hours in a plane on the tarmac after their plane experienced mechanical problems.
The 4.30pm flight was initially delayed until until an engineer from Christchurch was flown down; however, the flight was cancelled at midnight.
This morning, passenger Alastair Russell, of Auckland, said he felt "fobbed off" by Jetstar.
Jetstar paid for passengers to stay in Dunedin hotels overnight; however, they did not arrive at the accommodation until 2am, Mr Russell said.
The replacement flight took off about 1.30pm today.
