Star-studded outing

Astronomers on the ground at Hindon light the way with red torches to avoid disrupting their night vision during Thursday night’s trip to the Taieri Gorge on Dunedin Railways’ excursion train trip "The Stargazer". Members of the Dunedin Astronomical Society guided passengers between state-of-the-art telescopes, offering insights and answering questions about what could be seen in the night sky, as part of the one-off trip.
