Seven people from Southland and Otago were among 46 people to receive honours from Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy at two investiture ceremonies at Government House, in Wellington yesterday.
The recipients were Nicholas Smith, of Dunedin, ONZM, for services to the media and sport; Elisabeth (Judy) Bellingham, of Dunedin, MNZM, for services to classical singing; Robert (Bob) Berry, of Queenstown, MNZM, for services to the cheese industry; Graeme Humphries, of Te Anau, QSM, for services to the New Zealand Fire Service; Margaret Bruss, of Alexandra, MNZM, for services to netball; the late Allen Birchall, of Dunedin, QSM, for services to landscape architecture; Constance (Margaret) Dando, of Dunedin, QSM, for services to senior citizens.
Six investiture ceremonies have been held at Government House this year.
The final ceremony of the year will happen this morning.
