The Black Ferns are going on a national tour to celebrate the Rugby World Cup success, but the South will have to wait a little longer to see them.

Following the team’s 34-31 win against England last month, the Black Ferns announced on social media yesterday they would be embarking on a two-week tour of New Zealand.

The team will visit Omokoroa, Hamilton, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Christchurch and Wellington, starting on Monday and finishing on December 13.

Otago and Southland were noticeable omissions from the list of regions being visited by the world champions.

However, a New Zealand Rugby spokeswoman said yesterday the organisation was working with all provincial rugby unions, and further details for future sessions would be released soon.

"A range of public skills and drills and meet and greets will take place in the two weeks that Black Ferns players have returned from annual leave before the Christmas break," the spokeswoman said.

"New Zealand Rugby is continuing to work with those regions not involved in the first series of events to lock in celebrations in the new year."
