A supermarket is destined for the former St Mary's School site in Mosgiel.
Progressive Enterprises Ltd strategy and corporate affairs general manager Richard Manaton yesterday confirmed the site had been bought by General Distributors Ltd for the purpose of building a new Countdown supermarket to replace the present Mosgiel store.
''We will be applying for resource consent shortly, and when we have that process complete we will then be able to advise of the details, i.e. timings and proposed store size.
''The current store will remain open during construction.''
