Decked out in her All Blacks shirt, Ms Hinds was the only New Zealander accompanying a group of French tourists during their stay in Dunedin for the New Zealand-French rugby test.
There was no way she was going to hide her true colours while her equally proud French-speaking friends displayed their tricolours.
She got herself in the situation through working for Antipodes Travel, which organised the rugby tickets and itinerary for about 32 French tourists.
"I work in an office full of French people, which is pretty good fun, especially for matches like this," said Ms Hinds, who has a degree in French.
Antipodes spokeswoman Sandrine Feillet said the group was mainly from New Caledonia and Tahiti, with a few from France.
Some came for just this game and others were spending longer to tour or stay to watch the second test in Wellington.
