A section of the walking and cycling track between Dunedin and Port Chalmers was officially opened on Saturday.

Walkers and cyclists had been using the track since mid-September and feedback had been almost entirely positive, he said.
The completed path was halfway between Dunedin and Port Chalmers and the path's construction was supported by the 2012-15 Otago regional land transport programme, Mr Dowsett said.
