Why did three ducks cross the road in Dunedin on Saturday night?
Beak-cause ... well actually no-one knows, but the final score was: ducks 3 (uninjured), cars 2 (damaged).
It was a flap, snap, crash, crash result.
Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said a 47-year-old woman stopped her car on Kaikorai Rd at 6pm to let the ducks cross safely, but a second car driven by 55-year-old man crashed into the back of hers.
Another 55-year-old man was apparently distracted by looking at the outcome of a previous crash when his car struck the back of the second vehicle, Snr Sgt Bond said.
It is understood no-one was badly hurt in the accidents, which are still being investigated by police.
