Transpower workers work in tandem yesterday, carrying out maintenance on a transmission pole above the carpark of Pak’nSave Dunedin.

A Transpower spokesman said the work was typically known as "tower painting", maintenance which extends the life of the coating on towers.

The work on the tower would be completed within a few days and the team would be carrying out the same work on other poles in the Dunedin area.

"It’s definitely not every day you see people working on transmission infrastructure above a Pak’nSave," the spokesman said.
