Millions of jigsaw puzzle pieces were on sale at The Regent Theatre's Anything But Books Sale in Dunedin yesterday.
Sale volunteer Kath Wallace, of Dunedin, said among the vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, cassette tapes and other bric-a-brac were about 2000 donated jigsaw puzzles.
Before the sale, a volunteer team made most of the puzzles to ensure all the pieces were there.
She made about 200 jigsaws herself.
''I find it therapeutic.''
Noeline McFarlane, of Dunedin, said she came to the annual sale just for jigsaws and bought five 1000-piece jigsaws yesterday.
She waits until winter to start piecing the puzzles together, she said.
Sale convener Alison Cunningham said more goods were needed for the Regent 24 Hour Book Sale on May 2 and a truck would be collecting books and other items across Dunedin on Sunday, March 9.
