Helpful pedestrians pushed a crashed vehicle off one of Dunedin's busiest streets after a two-car collision this afternoon.

The vehicles collided at the intersection of Stuart and Cumberland Sts about 2.15pm.

One of the vehicles blocked the busy intersection for a time, but members of the public pushed it into a nearby car park.

One person sustained minor injuries.
