Parking fees are set to increase in Dunedin later this week, the Dunedin City Council has announced.
The increases, of between 50c and $1, were confirmed earlier this year but would come into force on Thursday, council infrastructure general manager Simon Drew said.
It was the first increase to on-street parking charges in over a decade, and was a first step in a wider reviewing on and off-street parking costs in the central city, he said.
The extra income would go into the council's general operating budget.

Just another creep in their not so secret plot to force us out of our cars. It's getting farcical now. If they are going to increase these parking fees can't they at least make sure they go towards improving parking availability in the city....crickets....
