The Araiteuru Marae multicultural gala day festival was held on Saturday at the marae in Māori Hill.
Organiser and marae manager Tania Williams said a diverse range of people had come to the marae to set up their stalls.
The festival commemorated World Refugee Day and celebrated unity, Ms Williams said.
"It's a great gathering to provide an opportunity for people to put a little bit of extra in their pocket to help spread their joy a bit further this Christmas and over the holiday celebrations."
The festival was "in line" with the movement seen throughout New Zealand this year, she said.
"Which is kotahitanga, which is about unity.
"That's why you see just all these different people coming together, which is what Araiteuru Marae is all about."
There were 11 stalls on Saturday.
