The roundabout — which connects Portobello Rd, Harington Point Rd, Highcliff Rd, Hereweka St, and Hatchery Rd — was paved in early December, and was completed barely ahead of the busy festive season.
Otago Peninsula Community Board member Hoani Langsbury said he had tried the new layout himself.
"I can say I’ve driven straight through.
"It was great."
Concerns about the ability of larger vehicles to navigate the area had been previously raised.
"The vehicles are able to go straight through rather than trying to get around it, so it seems to be working as expected," Mr Langsbury said.
