A driver had a lucky escape after his truck caused power lines to come down, cutting electricity to customers in Mosgiel this morning.
The incident near Dunedin happened about 9.15am, when the south-bound truck's boom hit five or six power lines while travelling down Factory Rd.
Mosgiel senior station officer Martin Jansen, of the Fire Service, said the driver was lucky, as live lines were left draped over the vehicle.
The man managed to get out without help and wasn't hurt.
About 20 customers experienced a power cut as a result of the accident.
