More community groups are vying for a slice of the Dunedin City Council's community, events and creative grants in the latest funding round.
The council has received 118 applications from groups seeking a share of $193,000 in funding made available by the council in the latest round, which was a slight increase on previous rounds, council community adviser Paul Coffey said.
The funding and applications were spread across five separate areas, with the largest - community grants - attracting 52 applications for a share of $90,000, he said.
Twenty-five applications for creative communities funding of $38,000 had also been received, along with 11 applications for $15,000 in discretionary arts funding, he said.
A further 25 applications for community event grants, and five applications for commercial event grants, had also been received, with $25,000 available for each, he said.
The funding was made available twice each year, although the amount distributed could vary from year to year and groups were restricted from applying more than once each year, he said.
Applications for the latest round closed last week, and funding decisions were expected to be confirmed in mid-November with the money available by December 1, Mr Coffey said.
