Three Mongrel Mob members will appear in court today after the alleged pack rape of a teenager at a Dunedin gang house on Tuesday night.

A 19-year-old woman contacted police about 10pm on Tuesday, saying she had been subjected to "multiple rapes" by "several" men.

The woman had been visiting the men at a Mongrel Mob house in Helena St.

The Armed Offenders Squad searched south Dunedin streets yesterday for the alleged offenders after a loaded pump action shotgun was discovered at the house.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kallum Croudis said today although police did not believe the weapon was used in the alleged rapes, the AOS was deployed to protect the safety of searching officers.

Police took a number of men into custody last night, and sexual violation charges were laid against three who would appear in Dunedin District Court today.
