Archery, longsword demonstrations and a grand banquet will be part of an inaugural medieval children's camp near Mosgiel.
The King's Wood Medieval Camp will be held from October 2-5 at Tirohanga Camp.
It has been organised by Taieri College teacher Adrienne Alexander in conjunction with the Otago Association for Gifted Children and the Dunedin Medieval and Renaissance Society.
Mrs Alexander said she had organised other children's camps and wanted to share her passion for medieval activities.
The $200 cost covered accommodation, food, classes in drama, music, archery, games, creative writing, arts and crafts, heraldry and calligraphy, and longsword demonstrations, quests and battles.
On October 4, there would be a pot-luck banquet, to which family members of camp participants were invited.
• The camp is open to children 8-13. To book, email Mrs Alexander on aalexander@taieri.school.nz.
