A car rolled and caught fire at Careys Bay this morning.

A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the single-car crash on Blueskin Rd about 10am.

A vehicle reportedly rolled and caught on fire, she said.

"Traffic in the area is being stopped in order for the collision site to be cleaned up.

"Motorists are asked to avoid the area or expect delays."

A St John spokesman said a man was taken to Dunedin Hospital with minor injuries.
