Debra Miles, of Papanui Inlet Rd, kneels in an igloo she made out of milk containers, with husband Wayne.

Mrs Miles said she used more than 800 2-litre containers, sourced from Dunedin Hospital, to create the igloo.

It is part of their annual Christmas decorations, which also include cartoon characters and Santa's sleigh.

The igloo took a few months to make, and was a hit with children already, she said.

‘‘The excitement on their faces is why I do it.’’
