Lions garage sale aiding charities

Dunedin Host Lions Club sales convener Jenni Mattingly displays a disco ball and some "dancing" shoes, alongside a dollhouse that will be for sale today at the club’s annual garage sale for charity.

Ms Mattingly has been lining the walls of her home in anticipation of the annual event which will raise funds for St John New Zealand and the Otago Community Hospice.

She had received many donations for the event which would be held at St Patrick’s Hall in Macandrew Rd.

Any items not sold at the fundraiser would be donated to local charities and organisations to help people in the city.

"Men’s clothing, sheets, towels and bedding, that goes to the Dunedin Night Shelter."

Nothing would be held over for next year’s event, as they wanted to help others along the way.
