Stephen Coyle has been appointed a District Court judge with a Family Court warrant, Attorney-General Chris Finlayson announced today.
Mr Coyle, a Tauranga barrister, will be sworn in on May 15 and will sit in Dunedin.
He was in partnerships until 2003 and has been a barrister sole since then with a practice in family law.
