The playcentre will celebrate the new facility with an open day and official opening on Saturday.
''It's been six years in the planning so it's great to see it done,'' centre president Leanne Stenhouse said.
The centre had fundraised and applied for grants to get the $15,000 needed for the redevelopment, which includes gardens and improved surfaces.
She hoped families from throughout the district would visit during the open day.
The centre only had seven families involved at present and was hoping more would join.
''It has huge benefits for parents and family.''
The centre was open twice a week and catered for children ranging from babies to 6-year-olds.
While there was a perception playcentres required a lot of work, the more families involved, the less there was for each individual, she said.
Saturday's open day is from 1pm-3pm.
