Harvest display proves a winner

Waitaki Bacon and Ham owner Sue Morton, of Oamaru, and assistant Grace Roesler (16), of Dunedin, with their award-winning display at the Otago Farmers Market harvest celebration.

Mrs Morton, a 12-year veteran of the market, said she brought "a few leaves out of the garden'' and sported a porcine theme, which won her the best vendor costume competition, meaning she did not have to pay for her booth for the day.

The harvest event also included a contest for the best creatively presented marrow.
