Flat burgled during the day

Dunedin police are warning students to lock their doors after a man was seen repeatedly creeping into a student flat during the day.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said a flat in Forth St was targeted three times, all during the day.

The man, described as small in stature and wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled up, crept through a ranchslider door on three separate occasions.

The incidents were classed as burglaries and some alcohol was reported missing from the fridge, but other items including TVs were not taken.

Snr Sgt Dinnissen urged people to keep their doors locked and know what their flatmates were doing, so properties were not left unlocked.
