MS Maasdam was the first cruise ship of the season to arrive at Port Chalmers yesterday morning.
The 55,575-tonne ship, carrying up to 1258 passengers and 580 crew, departed again about 6pm.
It is among 130 cruise ships expected to visit Dunedin this season, carrying 252,014 passengers - 6% more than last season.
The next cruise ship to arrive will be Majestic Princess on Friday at 11am.
