Two people were taken to Dunedin Hospital by St John Ambulance last night as the result of two separate fires.
A 44-year-old man received first and second degree burns to his hands and torso in a fire in a farm implement shed, at Grassy Point, on Portobello Rd.
Fire Service units from Portobello and St Kilda attended at 10.02pm.
At 10.27pm, three Fire Service units were called to a house fire at 54 Richardson St, South Dunedin.
Up to 200 people watched as firefighters with breathing apparatus searched for anyone trapped inside.
A Fire Service spokesman reported everyone had been accounted for.
The ambulance service said one person was taken to hospital.
Their condition was not available last night.
