A fine day at Wingatui

Horses, fashion and a smattering of sunshine have combined to bring the flavour of Australia's biggest race to Wingatui.

The Otago Racing Club's annual Melbourne Cup Day was in full swing ahead of the big race from across the ditch just after 5pm (NZ time). 

Along with the racing, there was the Fashion in the Field competition, with the winner going on to represent in the Auckland final.
