Rucks and mauls will be replaced by beanbags and popcorn as Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium is transformed into a giant cinema this Saturday.
The stadium's family-friendly movie event will feature a screening of Despicable Me, after members of the public chose the movie over The Lego Movie in an online poll which ended on Monday.
Movie fans are invited to bring their beanbags, deckchairs and snacks, enjoy a kick-about, sprawl out on the playing surface and watch the movie.
Gates will open at 2.30pm and the movie will start at 3pm, shown on a giant replay screen at the Otago Daily Times stand end of the ground.
Entry will be by gold coin, with no charge for the stadium car park.
