An elderly man has died after being hit by a car in Macandrew Rd in South Dunedin late yesterday afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said the man was taken to Dunedin Hospital after the accident, which occurred between Cutten and Glasgow Sts about 4.50pm.
Police today said the 87-year-old man later died at Dunedin Hospital.
Police said their thoughts were with his family and friends.
The Serious Crash Unit attended the scene.
People on social media said yesterday the man was hit on a pedestrian crossing.
