Easy come, easy go for SDHB staff

Southern District Health Board staff paid twice due to a payroll blunder will have their extra pay reversed tonight.

The DHB issued a statement this afternoon saying a "large number" of Dunedin-based staff were paid twice yesterday because of  data processing error that occurred while it was in the process of changing its banking provider.

A total of 1625 staff were affected by the error, most of whom were nurses.

Staff were today advised the DHB's banks and external payroll provider would be recalling the payments made in error.

This reversal would take place overnight, from 6pm this evening.
