Little Annabelle Smith has plenty of reasons to get up early over the next seven weeks.
Annabelle (6 months) is the baby daughter of All Black back Ben Smith and his wife Katie.
Born in March, Annabelle has not yet been to a game but will get that experience next month, when she heads to England with her mother for the business end of the World Cup.
Mrs Smith said until then, she and Annabelle would watch the games on television and enjoy watching their husband and father play.
Smith phones every day, sometimes morning and night, and Mrs Smith said Annabelle recognised her father's voice.
Mrs Smith said though her husband was often away she always had family or friends to stay and the house was always busy.
Not a great sleeper, Annabelle would have the excuse of getting up to watch her father play over the next few weeks.
She had yet to see him play in the flesh as she was too young when her father was helping the Highlanders to Super Rugby glory.
Both sets of Annabelle's grandparents are heading to the tournament in England while Mrs Smith and daughter will arrive at the quarterfinal stage.
As for how long they will stay in England, Mrs Smith kicked for touch, saying she did not want to make a prediction on the All Blacks' chances.
Other partners of All Blacks were also heading over in what all hoped would be a chance to see history made.
