The globe will be altered later this year, as Air New Zealand attempts to put Dunedin and Queenstown on the world map.
A world map on Air New Zealand's website of routes travelled by the airline has omitted five international dest-inations due to lack of space.
New transtasman dest-inations Dunedin and Hamilton have been left off the map, along with popular tourist destination Queenstown.
Only Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch could fit on the New Zealand section of the world map.
But there was no relief for neighbouring Australia, with no room for Cairns or Coolangatta.
Air New Zealand spokesman Mark Street said the airline was aware several destinations had been left in transit due to "space restriction" and it was not a slight on those cities.
The omission was unlikely to impact on ticket sales, as all of Air New Zealand's destinations were included in booking information and in its inflight magazine, Kia Ora, he said.
Since Air New Zealand replaced its subsidiary Freedom Air on the Dunedin route on March 30, the priority for the airline was to include Dunedin on all booking information, Mr Street said.
A new map was likely to be unveiled by the airline on its website later this year, which would include the missing destinations, he said.
