The model of efficiency

Otago Model Engineering Society member Andrew Douglas wheels a model train to prepare for the Model Engineering Exhibition which begins today.

Exhibition convener Gary Douglas said there would be models of all shapes and sizes, including boats, trains and cars.

He said highlights would include miniature steam-train rides, model boats setting sail and high-speed tether-car racing with cars reaching speeds of up to 130kmh.

The exhibition is open from 10.30am to 3.30pm until Sunday.
