Daffodils main feature of spring show

Dunedin Horticultural Society show manager Neil Judd holds the Champion of Champions daffodil, "Dawn Parade" grown by Bill and Betty Cowie, of Winton, at the society’s Spring Flower Show at the St Kilda Bowling Club at the weekend.

Daffodils were the main feature of the spring show, but floral art, bonsai, cut flowers, pot plants, cacti and vegetables were also on display.

Judging took place on Saturday morning and the show was opened to the public on Saturday afternoon and all day yesterday.

With a lot of rain and wind coming at the "wrong time" this spring the show had superb numbers this year, Mr Judd said.
