A stolen car has been recovered from Beach St, Waikouaiti this afternoon, police say.Inquiries were ongoing to locate the people involved, the spokesman said.
Earlier today, Dunedin police said they were searching for a car involved in a traffic offence on the Northern Motorway.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called to reports of traffic offending on the Northern Motorway (State Highway 1) about noon today.
The car involved was heading south from Waikouaiti, the spokeswoman said.
It was not immediately clear if the stolen car was the one involved in the earlier driving incident, the spokesman said.
