Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said shortly after 11pm a vehicle rammed through a sliding door at McIver & Veitch, causing significant damage inside.
A KTM motorcycle worth $16,500 was stolen in the late-night ram raid.
Those responsible remain at large.
The case has been handed to the Criminal Investigation Branch, Snr Sgt Dinnissen said.
