A police dog found two boys hiding inside a South Dunedin corner store after a bungled ice cream burglary early today.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said the burglary targeted a range of items including Powerade, chips and eight ice creams from the Lifeline Convenience Store in King Edward St.

A 17-year-old man on bail for other offending was arrested and faces charges of burglary.

Two boys, aged 15 and 13, were found hiding in the shop by a police dog team.

The boys would be referred to Youth Aid.
