Allegedly bringing a bayonet to the Dunedin District Court at the weekend was not the sharpest decision.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said when a 40-year-old man’s bag went through metal detectors at the courthouse on Saturday a large bayonet in a metal sheath was found.
Police were called and the man has been summoned to appear in court for possession of a knife.
