Two fire appliances are at the scene of what appears to be a small fire in the house on High St, near the intersection with Wickliffe St.
The woman was attended to by ambulance officers on the lawn of the house before being taken to Dunedin Hospital with suspected smoke inhalation. She had no burn injuries.
The house does not appear to be seriously damaged.
