People were encouraged to help create a giant tapestry collage using fallen leaves, twigs and any other natural materials they could find at Chingford Park as part of Art Play for Earth Day.
The sunny day helped draw 1123 people to the event, along with 54 volunteers.
Pamela Brown said she and fellow artists Janet de Wagt and Kerry Mackay were raising awareness for Earth Day, a global event supporting environmental protection.
"It’s been great — it’s a chance to play with colours and patterns," she said.
People were creating circles as part of the collage, ranging from very large to very small.
They were enjoying raking their own leaves, although the trio had come prepared with bags of leaves.
The round shapes represented the Earth and were also simple to create, as some participants in the family-focused event were very young.
Art Play for Earth Day was also being photographed on a time lapse.
The final result would stay in place until dispersed by the weather.
The event also featured musical performances and other stalls and activities, such as face-painting and bubble-making.
