A CNN travel crew is in Otago, capturing footage to show internationally.
The television crew arrived in the region this week and planned to film in Dunedin, Queenstown and Wanaka.
Regional tourism organisations had arranged for crew members to visit various locations and attractions in the area.
CNN was believed to be the first international television network to send a crew to Otago so far this year.
In November a BBC crew filmed in Dunedin for St Andrew's Day celebrations, when the Queen's Baton Relay for the 2014 Commonwealth Games was also in the city.
The BBC crew documented the journey of the baton relay, and in Dunedin they filmed Scottish entertainment in the Octagon, including marching, dancing, pipe and ceilidh band performances, and traditional Scottish games.
Another BBC crew was expected to visit Dunedin to film for another television programme towards the end of February.
Dates for the visit had yet to be confirmed.
The programme was expected to focus on the connections between Dunedin and Northern Ireland.
