A car has crashed into a tree near the Kensington Oval in Dunedin this morning.

A police spokeswoman said the car hit the tree on a traffic island in Princes St about 11.30am.

Two cars were involved in the crash, one of which had to be towed away.

Motorists had to drive around the tree for a time and the Dunedin City Council was called to remove it.

It was believed no-one was injured in the crash.

Lets hope the DCC put in a claim to replace the tree as well as repair cars etc.
