Car fire quelled

Dunedin firefighters check the temperature of a car in Rutherford St, Caversham, after it burst into flames yesterday.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said crews from the St Kilda and Lookout Point stations were called about 7.45am to tackle the blaze.

Crews left about an hour after the fire was extinguished.

A fire investigator was notified but did not attend.
