The 9-year-old was among a crowd of more than 150 people who turned up at Musselburgh School in Dunedin for Saturday’s Blue Light Dash fundraising event.
The day’s activities included bike-riding, games and a free barbecue, as well as a chance for children to squeeze into a police patrol car.
Organiser Murray O’Donnell said the "fun" event, in its fourth year, raised money for Blue Light Charity, which supported children across New Zealand.
This year’s event drew 62 supporters from around the country, as well as three from Australia, for a three-day road trip which started in Queenstown on Friday.
Participants paid $1700 each to enter, and drove from Queenstown to Dunedin on Friday with stops in Roxburgh and Miller’s Flat, he said.
The group visited Portobello and stayed the night at Larnach Castle, on Otago Peninsula, before Saturday’s Musselburgh School visit.
They then drove to Oamaru, where they spent the night before returning to Queenstown yesterday.
Mr O’Donnell said the trip would raise about $17,000 for Blue Light.
