Bin a good start, council says

General waste and green waste bins were lined up for collection in Gladstone Rd, North Dunedin yesterday.

A council spokesman was pleased with the first day.

"We haven’t got exact numbers on how many bins were collected, but there was a high number of the correct bins put out.

"Dunedin seems to have got the message and households were well prepared.

"We’re happy with how well we communicated to residents about the changes. We will have more information about our plans for the CBD in the future."
